Ewe Are So Sweet

This is the second of the new release digi stamps from Jellypark - I totally forgot to blog it this week! To be honest I don't even know what day it is! I keep thinking I'm a day in front of what it really is!

This stamp is called Ewe Are So Sweet and its available to buy for only £1.25!  I've coloured it with Promarkers and used a fancy X Cut die to cut it out.  I've only used a few offcuts of paper - Back To Basics 2 from Dovecraft.  The main lilac card is from The Papermill and I've used some slightly hammered in the same colour for layering.  It's amazing what I find in my box of bits at times!

The sentiment comes with the digi stamp and I've added a polkadot organza ribbon and bow to finish.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Chocolate, Coffee and Cards: Bring On Spring
Crafts 4 Eternity:  Cute As You Like
Cut It Up:  Lion or Lamb and Die Cut
Digi Haven:  Spring
QKR Stampede:  Animals

Domestic Goddess

Ah, I'm feeling slightly like a domestic goddess this morning!  It's just gone 9am and I've already done 2 lots of washing (one of which is drying) plus a bit of tidying up and have been to Sainsbury's and got some bits and petrol (we went yesterday but it was that busy we couldn't park - no spaces at all!  So turned round and came home hence the early start this morning!)  However, my cooking skills are rather lacking so maybe not a domestic goddess!

The image I've used here is part of a wonderful retro download from Papercraft Inspirations.  There are different images in different sizes plus sentiments.  I printed the pack as was and used the largest image in this particular set but had to trim it down somewhat to fit on the card blank!

I've used leftover papers and scraps (I've had to join them carefully!) from Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 collection and then added some ribbons from my stash - they actually tuck underneath her skirt.

The flowers and brad I found in my stash and were lying around so at least they have been put to good use!  I bit of stickles here and there and a dab of liquid pearls for her earring.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

I Heart Sketches:  Sketch followed
Brown Sugar:  Flowers
Delicious Doodles:  1-2-3 (1 image, 2 embellishments (ribbon and flowers), 3 papers)

Simply Create Too Challenge 34 - Animals

It's time for a new Simply Create Too challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

Animals

I've used a Penny Black stamp from one of the clear packs that I actually own!  I've had the stamp set for some time but never got round to inking it until now!  I've coloured it with Aquamarkers and used papers from Dovecraft Back to Basics 2.

I've added a faux stitch around the edges of the image and papers and made the bunting myself.  I cheated a little with the brads as they are Sharpie marker dots with a blob of liquid pearls over the top.

The sentiment is also from the stamp set and I've added ribbon and pearls from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge - we also have a Design Team Call running - pop over to the Challenge blog for more details!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 38 - No Papers

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for this fortnight is:

No Papers

You can stamp your own background or leave it au naturel but as long as no papers are used, then you are good to go!

I'm sponsored by the fab Emma Canning from Flat Friends who is offering the challenge winner 4 digi's from the store!

I've been lucky enough to use one of her images and this one is called Angel and is available to buy for only £1.25!  I've coloured her with Promarkers and added the snowflake charm with embroidery thread.

The sentiment is a Studio G acrylic stamp and I've added two silver half pearls either side.

I'm rather pleased with how this turned out and I do like colouring directly onto the card stock - it makes a nice change!  Hope you can join in with the challenge - for more details please pop over to Crimbo Crackers!

An Interview With First Place Phil

Today, Dr Digi can reveal that a World Exclusive Interview was conducted in very top secret with Phil Vroom following his highly successful return to racing.  To keep all Phil's fans fully briefed, here follows a snippet from that very World Exclusive Interview.

Dr Digi:  So then Phil, how does it feel to be right at the top of the game once again?

First Place Phil:  Feels mighty fine Dr D.

DD:  I see you have some new young blood racing alongside you in the highly successful Champion Kart Services team?

FPP:  Indeedy I have.  Young whippersnappers that they are.  Need to watch out for Cunliffe - he's a demon in the wet conditions.

DD:  So he's tipped for the top is he?

FPP:  (Becoming rather hot and bothered) I can out drive him any day of the week.  Any day I tell you.  Just look at all my trophies - look at this one here.  See how the gold shines?  I polish ..........

DD:  (Sheepishly) I must dash. I think I left the iron on........

First Place Phil is available to buy in a flash from Dr Digi.  Just make sure yours is not past it.

And now for the real story behind the card!  Samuel races go-karts for a team - Champion Kart Services (to see more about his karting click here!) and his team boss, Ryan had a Birthday a few weeks ago and I made this card especially for him.  The background is originally from Papercraft Inspirations - I've added the blue text and its all the surnames of Ryan's drivers.

It is no mistake that I've added Samuel's after Schumacher because he is rather nifty in the wet conditions!  I've also added the team name and logo.  Dr Digi was very kind and added the team logo to the front of First Place Phil's racing suit.

Phil has been added to an acetate card front so that the racing names and teams can be clearly seen underneath.

Ryan was rather pleased with the card!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

My Grafico:  Anything Goes
Ooh La La:  Male Themed
Squigglefly:  Anything Goes
Whoopsi Daisy:  Use A Digi

This image is called King For The Day and the sentiment comes with it and also one that says Top Dad  I've coloured him with Promarkers and then added to the papers (Funky Hand - Wishes and Kisses cd) with foam pads so he stands out.

New Funky Hand Download - I Love You Sew!

Anice has released a brand new download over at Funky Hand and this collection is called I Love You Sew.  There are 22 papers plus an alphabet all for £3.19.  There are also some fab digi images too that have been released - perfect for those who love their cups of tea!

I've made this retro dress card using some of the papers from the I Love You Sew download.  The skirt on the dress is three quarters of a circle cut from paper (I forgot to print on the reverse so coloured it with a Promarker!) and then folded.

I glued it over the body and then added some half pearls to hide the join.  I've added some inking and doodling around the edges of the other papers and finished off with a heart half pearl to the top corner.

This is a lovely download collection of papers which are really versatile - perfect for Birthdays or Anniversaries or Weddings!  If you need any more inspiration, just pop over to Funky Hand and have a look at the gallery - the Design Team have been busy!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Just Relax

When I saw this image by From The Heart Digital Stamps, I just had to buy it!  It's called Martini Chicks and also comes with a second sentiment.  I've coloured it with Promarkers and added glossy accents to the olives.

The papers are from various Funky Hand collections - I'm slowly working my way through all my offcuts in the hope that I can use them all up!  Seems such a shame to throw away (well, we paper recycle) even the smallest bits!)

The sentiment came with the image and I've added a flower and button from my stash.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Jellypark Challenge - Pretty Pastels

And here we go for the last blog post for today and it is the turn of the Jellypark challenge!  The theme for the fortnight is:

Pretty Pastels

Which would be perfect for this time of year except that here in Lancashire we have snow, and its snowing hard.  And its really windy. Great.

Anyway, I've used Hoopla Hannah and she is a charity stamp - so 100% of the sale goes towards Jellypark's charity of the year which is The Sick Children's Trust.  And at only £1.25 is a bargain plus you are contributing to a very worthwhile charity!  There are other charity stamps available too - and all just as cute!

I've coloured her with Promarkers and added glitter glue around the edge of the image and also on the heart on her t-shirt.

The background is all one layer and is printed from a kit from Cuddly Buddly - you get 16 in the kit for £2.49 and they are so easy to use - great for when you need a quick card!  And that's about it!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to Jellypark.  There are two new release stamps too this fortnight and I'll be blogging them at some point over the next week.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Polkadoodle Challenge 12 - Embossing

It's Friday and as you know, every other Friday is rather busy blog wise for me!  If you are looking for the Simply Create Too challenge its underneath; Jellypark will be coming along soon but for now, here is the new Polkadoodle challenge!  And this week the challenge is:

Embossing

I've gone for the dry kind and used two Cuttlebug folders - Swiss Dots and D'Vine Swirls.  The pink and blue papers are from Candy Doodles cd which is one that I use over and over again for pastels and calm colours plus you get the option of slightly distressed as well as solid - both very good in my book!

I've used a template from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine plus a dash of inspiration too!  I've cut the fancy bottom of the card by using a Nestie as a template.  The tags have been handwritten and cut with a Sizzix tag die.  Everything else is from my stash.

Good luck with the Polkadoodles challenge!

Simply Create Too Challenge 33 Midway Extra - Easter / Bunnies

We're moving into the second week of the new challenge at Simply Create Too and the theme for the fortnight is:

Easter / Bunnies

I've altered a rather uninspiring pine photo frame by painting it with white acrylic paint mixed with some very fine glitter.  It took 3 coats to get it how I wanted!

The bunting and image are from Polkadoodles - Cherryblossom Lane cd and I've simply added the emboridery thread and a pale watercoloured background to the image.  Not much input from me on this creation!!

Apologies for the strange glow on the photo - you may recognise it as SUNSHINE!!

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

I Love Tea

Ah, perfect cuppa tea.  Ambrose Dunderton assumes the typical Sunday slouch on his favourite armchair and matching pouffe.   The lamp stands on a rug, donated by the generous Mrs C from just down the road.

And what garishly randomly striped wallpaper would not be complete without the three flying ducks.  Ambrose's homage to the irresistable Hilda Ogden (of whom he spends many a happy hour daydreaming about in his comfy armchair).

Feet Up and a Cuppa and Lamp digi's available to purchase from Doctor Digi this very instant!

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 46

It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge and here is the sketch for the fortnight:

We are sponsored by Sassy Designs Studio and one lucky winner will receive 4 images of their choice from the store!

Here is my take on the sketch.  I've used papers from Polkadoodles - Britannia Download which was a freebie download last year and I've used a scallop card blank to layer it all on.  The buttons are from my stash along with the twine.

I was lucky enough to use a Sassy Studios Design image and I really do like this one!  This one is called Great Britain Honey and she's been coloured with Promarkers and then cut out and layered with foam pads.

Hope you can join in with the challenge and for more details please pop over to Fetch A Sketch - good luck!

Lots O' Luck!

I've got a few 'sorry you're leaving / good luck' cards to make (and a few leaving lunches to go on too!) so I thought I'd get started and made this with a From The Heart digi stamp called Wee Bit and Lots O Luck - sentiment comes with it too plus other images in the set too.  I've coloured it with Promarkers and added glossy accents to the little shamrocks in the jar.

The sentiment came with the set and I've used some offcuts of card from a Funky Hand download - Christmas Tree (I hate to waste the offcuts!)  The ribbon is from my stash along with the half pearls.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Time For Tea

Here is the second of the two new digi releases from Jellypark - Time For Tea.  I've kept it really simple as I think its a lovely image and I've used some card I found in my stash which has been used as the main layer and also for the bunting.

I've added some organza ribbon from my stash and dots of liquid pearls on the bunting.

There is also a quick card decoupage version of the image on Crafts U Print and here it is!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 37 - No Stamped Images

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

No Stamped Images

If you want more details about the chalelnge, please pop over to Crimbo Crackers!

I've used a felt Christmas Tree decoration that I bought from Tesco in the same - just snipped off the ribbon loop on his body!

The printed papers are from Prima 6x6 North Country Collection and I've used an X Cut fancy die for the shapes plus brown card from my stash.  I've had the paper pad for quite some time and it is really pretty - so that probably explains why I have so much of it left!

The thin chocolate brown organza ribbon is also from my stash and I've added some doodling around the edges of the card and die cut.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

ABC Christmas Challenge:  Bingo (Ribbon, Animal, Die Cuts)
Going Grey With Scrap Creations:  Favourite Embellishment (Christmas decorations in the sale that I can use on my cards!)

Love Birds

Here is the first of two new release digi stamps from Jellypark - Two Love Birds and Cage.  And you too could buy it for the sum of £1.25!   I've kept my card simple and printed directly onto the card blank and then coloured in with Promarkers.

I've added a dotted line around the edge with liquid pearls and used a Nestie as a template for the shaped bottom.  I've added a wooden heart button from The Bead and Button Company and added some embroidery thread.

The shading in the centre is my old faded brown inkpad that I have daubed randomly!  The sentiment is a retired stamp from Lili of the Valley.

The second new release digi from Jellypark will be along at some point!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Shade Embarrassed

I treated myself to a Filofax after Christmas (my local Staples was closing down and the half price sale was too good to miss) with the intention of adding Birthday's, Anniversaries and addresses to it.

After 3 months I have got as far as addresses.  So you can now see why I love this lamp digi from Dr Digi.  And you will too at 50p!

I've already used one of the cards.  And you'd think it would be easier for me to get the Filofax prepared in advance.  Nope.  Too much like being organised!  Plus I can then spend the time I would have lost in actually doing some neat writing on thinking up witty captions.

I printed directly onto the card stock and thought that they would be equally spaced - not quite so as you can see!  Coloured with Promarkers plus added a dotted line around the edge (Nestie used as a template for the fancy bottom) with a gel pen, a button from my stash plus some embroidery thread to finish it off.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

365 Day Cards:  Day 66 - White Space
Whoopsie Daisy:  Buttons or Bows
Eclectic Ellapu:  Birthday's
Kenny K:  Happy Birthday

Image:  Dr Digi, coloured with Promarkers

Pretty In Purple

I bought some pre coloured Lili of the Valley toppers ages ago from their ebay shop - I can't actually find the toppers to link to them so I'm presuming that they are now discontinued.  Anyway, I bought them and then they have largely sat untouched and as I had a tidy up just after New Year (to make room for Samuel's trophy cabinet - he now has 14 trophies in 12 months!) I found them again.

So, wanting to make a quick card I used one:

Papers are Dovecraft Back to Basics, the flowers are from my stash (they actually were part of a garland I bought a few years ago from a charity shop as the flowers came apart easily and were pretty!)  Ribbon is from my stash - the wider one underneath is actually from Lidl!

I've hand written the tag and attached it with some embroidery thread.  You can just about see the vellum circle underneath the image - the edges have been dotted with liquid pearls.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Jellypark Challenge - Bunnies

Friday's are a busy day and here is my second post!  This is for the new Jellypark challenge which the theme for the fortnight is:

Bunnies

Just in time for Easter!  I made these two pouches with a fab digi image -  Rose Bunny.  I've coloured the images with Promarkers to match the colour of the papers which are from Funky Hand - Daisy Day download.  Apologies for the lopsided photo - I was having a hard time to keep the pouches upright as they wanted to flop over (no goodies inside!)

I made the scalloped edge by punching hearts and adding them to the reverse of the tag - a quick and easy way if you don't have lots of fancy dies!  These pouches are for my neices Amy (who has just turned one) and her big sister Niamh.  Lets hope Mummy and Daddy have not scoffed all the chocolate that I did put inside!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Polkadoodle Challenge 10 - Distressing

Time for another Polkadoodle challenge!  And this week the theme is:

Distressing

And I've actually incorporated a used tea bag and splodged it all over the Wonderland papers!  I printed the papers as A6 sized and then added to a card blank which has also been splodged with a wet tea bag.  I've added some faux stitching around the edges plus some seed beads and half pearls.

The flowers are made from a recycled Primark bag along with the handle (I must have had the bag a while as the handles are different now!)  I've added some bright pink tissue paper to the followers and seed beads to the centres.  Hat pin is from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

It's Behind You!

Look out Hugh - Pac Man is behind you!  Here is Hugh (who should be doing his homework) playing on his favourite retro game.  To be honest, he's rather rubbish as he can never get past level 2.  And he can't get annoyed because then his Mum will know he's not studying.....

I've coloured Hugh with Promarkers and added him to an acetate card front.  The background I found on google and I made Pac Man with a yellow circle and a rather large wobbly eye.   High Score Hugh is available in the store - what game will your Hugh play?  And will he be any good?!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 45

It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge and here is the sketch for the fortnight:

I've kept to the actual shape of the sketch and used some base papers from my stash plus a digi that I found in my stash - I must have had it a while because I'd already coloured it!  I can't remember off the top of my head the designer so when I remember I'll update the details below.  I've remembered!!  It's from Pink Cat Studios and its called Rex Loves Cake!

It's been coloured with Promarkers and then added with foam pads so it stands out a little.

The sentiment has been cut with my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet dies as I needed something to fill the space!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details and how to enter please pop over to Fetch A Sketch!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Quick Hello

Just a quick card I made last night with a fab Time For Tea digi called Hi There that I've coloured with Promarkers.  The image has been added to the card with foam pads so she stands out a little.

Papers are from my stash - the heart background is from The Clip Art Fairy and the strips are Funky Hand.  I actually didn't have enough of the background paper to cover the card blank in one go so the join is hidden behind the embroidery thread!

I've handwritten the slightly wonky sentiment and then added some half pearls and embroidery thread from my stash.  A bit of faux stitching around the edges and the card is complete!

Told you it didn't take long to make!  Jacob's football match was an exciting one this morning - they were leading 5-2 at half time and Jacob saved loads of potential goals and some really quite difficult ones when he had to dive on the floor (he has scraped both knees and elbow! And that is wearing a padded goalie kit!)  They still managed to loose 8-7 in the end but Jacob almost got 2 goals from the long kicks he made from his goal line!

Simply Create Too Challenge 32 - St Patrick's Day / Green

It's time for a new Simply Create Too challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

St Patrick's Day or Green

I've gone for the green theme as you can see and made a rather clean and simple card!  I've printed the digi from Papercraft Junkies directly onto the card stock and coloured him in with Promarkers.  This one is called Monster 5!

I've added glossy accents to his eyes (all four of them!) and the sentiment was printed directly onto the card too.  The button I found in my stash and the cord is elastic and came from a shoe tag!

Good luck with the challenge and to see the other Design Team's creations just pop to Simply Create Too!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Digi Stamps 4 Joy:  Birthday's are Fun
Papercraft Star:  Happy Birthday
Sisterhood of Crafters:  Birthday
Digital Tuesday:  Birthday
Created With Love:  Bright and Cheery
